About us
For some 20 years Sidec has served as the standard for colouring and mixing granules for synthetic wall and floor systems. The company is known for being the inventor of high-quality, coloured quartz (minimum 99% silicon) for use in floors, walls and decoration. SIDEC is only producer and no installation company.
SIDEC has chosen to focus solely on the production and development of materials for synthetic floors and walls and to refrain from doing any fitting of its own. This enables us, as a manufacturer, to commit ourselves to employing only materials of the highest quality and to ensure that our production processes meet the highest standards in terms of quality, safety and environmental friendliness. The installation companies using our products adhere to the same professional and ethical principles as SIDEC does.
GREEN POLICY
For several years there has been an active green policy. In 2009, we put 720 solar panels on the roof, with an annual production of 140.000 Kwh. Waste sorting and energy consumption are one of the high importance topics. Sidec has also a very good functioning water treatment system.

ISO 9001 + ISO 14001
Since 2007, Sidec is the proud owner of the ISO 9001 standard. ISO 9001 specifies requirements for a quality management system where an organization needs to demonstrate its ability to consistently provide product that meets customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements and aims to enhance customer satisfaction through the effective application of the system, including processes for continual improvement of the system and the assurance of conformity to customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
Since 2011, Sidec is also the owner of the ISO 14001 standard. ISO 14001 is voluntary, with its main aim to assist companies in continually improving their environmental performance, whilst complying with any applicable legislation. Organizations are responsible for setting their own targets and performance measures, with the standard serving to assist them in meeting objectives and goals and the subsequent monitoring and measurement of these.

HISTORY
The early days of SIDEC date back to 1970, when Guy Donckers was approached by a friend asking him to develop a fish-friendly coating for the small ornamental stones in his fish tank. Within weeks this coating was reality and Guy Donckers unknowingly became the inventor of coloured quartz carpet.
However, it was not until 1986 that he himself put his invention into practice. Indeed, in September of that year he established a production company for stucco, aiming to ultimately set up a gravel coating division under the financial wings of the stucco company. But the success of the stone carpet in both private homes and companies significantly expedited that evolution, resulting in gravel coating becoming, in one year, and remaining SIDEC's core business.
Today, the company is one of the leading producers of coloured gravel and sand in Europe, with branches and offices in the Benelux, US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Great Britain, Germany, France, Russia, Ukraine, Hungary and Poland. In South Africa production is done under SIDEC licence.
